Maintenance Managers - Electrical & Mechanical

Qualifications
Two year technical degree (BSEE or BSME preferred) and minimum of 3-5 years experience in heavy manufacturing environment (related military experience will be considered). Previous supervisory / management experience in a unionized manufacturing environment. Strong commitment to safety and good housekeeping. Proficiency in the use of computerized maintenance and information systems.

Seeking experienced maintenance managers with solid leadership skills, in depth experience with planning / predictive and preventative maintenance practices and commitment to ongoing process improvement to direct maintenance activities in a unionized environment. This position is responsible for the safe and effective management and coordination of the maintenance team activities including: directing the hourly workforce in daily maintenance functions to ensure equipment is operational and safe to meet production objectives; scheduling and planning maintenance activities to ensure continuous operations and eliminate downtime; implementing maintenance processes and procedures and recommending improvement projects related to safety, reliability, process effectiveness and cost; performing scheduled repairs and planning for outages; tracking maintenance delays; conducting area inspections; conforming to environmental and quality standards; and practicing continuous improvement initiatives.


Supervisor - Steelmaking, Casting & Rolling Operations

Qualifications
Qualified candidates will possess demonstrated leadership skills with previous supervisory / management experience in a unionized environment. Military leadership will be considered. Interpersonal, communication, team-building, problem-solving skills and computer proficiency required. Ability to work rotating shifts a must!

Our front-line managers are dedicated to ensuring the achievement of quality, production, safety and cost objectives as well as adherence to company and labor agreements and safety and environmental compliance.


Development Engineer - Product Specialist

Qualifications
Qualified candidates will possess a metallurgical engineering or related degree; advance degree preferred and offer extensive cross functional experience in ferrous metallurgy, steel plant operations – bar product, or automotive industry. Related experience with hot forging gears, crankshafts, bearings and familiarity with customer operations, products and processes is highly desired. Candidates must offer demonstrated experience conducting academic level quality research, knowledge and familiarity with industry standards, skills in advanced metallurgical analysis systems and have received formal training in fractography and failure analysis. Strong communications, problem-solving, and analytical skills are critical to success in this role. This position will be based at our Technical Center in Lorain, Ohio. 30-40% Travel is required in this role (domestic and international).

The development engineer is charged with providing advanced materials engineering technical support for customer and mill organizations. This includes: identifying customer products / process needs and trends; working directly with customers to identify / develop new products and processes for enhanced value / improved quality, cost and reliability; developing and reviewing engineering specifications and managing technical research and testing; conducting trial productions; collecting and analyzing data; providing work direction; and supporting continuous quality improvement initiatives.


Facilities - Project Engineer

Qualifications
Qualified candidates will possess at minimum a Bachelors degree in mechanical or electrical engineering and at least three (3) years of industry related (heavy manufacturing) field experience. Candidates must have demonstrated skills in multitasking; negotiating; written and oral communications; and computers as well as a general understanding of codes/regulations (Building, Construction, OSHA, and EPA); and interpersonal and leadership skills. This position requires travel.

As a project engineer you will assist with multi-disciplined engineering and construction projects at our steelmaking plants in Canton and Lorain Ohio. Responsibilities include:

Developing and submitting capital expenditure requests for multiple plants

Managing and leading projects from contractor selection and negotiations to implementation

Participating in developing contract guarantees, deliveries, and performance requirements with equipment vendors and suppliers

Identifying, negotiating with, and selecting external installation contractors

Coordinating a variety of disciplines on a project including supervising and training maintenance supervisors and craftsmen

Assisting plant managers and department supervisors in developing projects to improve productivity and processes

Utilizing engineering expertise in troubleshooting problems and maintaining equipment.

And assuring compliance with all company policies

Customer Technical Service Engineer

Qualifications
Seeking a degreed candidate - metallurgy, materials science, or related degree with cross functional experience in many aspect of mill quality operations (steelmaking, casting, rolling and specifications). Previous experience in a technical sales environment or customer service a plus. Must have demonstrated experience interpreting operational data, excellent interpersonal skills, and strong problem solving skills. The ability to develop and deliver quality presentation and that willingness to travel is required.

The CTS Engineer is responsible for managing all aspects of the technical relationship with assigned customers including:

Identifying and developing new business opportunities and making technical product recommendations

Serving as technical liaison between the customer and mill technical resources

Developing continuous improvement and cost reduction activities with customers

Providing superior technical support in product development, spec review and creation, product recommendations - properties, applications, heat treating, forming and machining practices

And monitoring and providing continuous updates on customer activity

We are currently seeking a CTS Engineer for our Detroit, Chicago, and Southern US regions.


Process Metallurgist

Qualifications
BS degree Metallurgy or Materials Science with demonstrated experience in quality control and engineering practices. Proven skills in problem solving, analyzing and organizing.

This position is responsible for providing guidance and solutions for producing and processing quality material in the department. This includes working with exceptions to steel specifications; maintaining and developing quality practices; developing corrective actions; determining dispositions of non-conforming heats; preparing weekly key quality statistics; and supporting continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
