James L. Phillips is director of information technology for Republic Engineered Products, Inc. He oversees all information technology functions and works to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of Republic's information and business systems.

Phillips' technical background, management experience, and expertise in programming and systems design have been valuable assets for Republic.

Phillips joined Republic in April 2004 as a business analyst. He was promoted to manager of business systems in June 2005, the position he held until his recent promotion.

Prior to joining Republic, Phillips was manager of production planning and senior systems analyst for Slater Steel's Fort Wayne, Ind., operation. He also previously served as manager of MIS, manager of production systems and programmer/analyst for Universal Stainless & Alloy Products, Inc., Bridgeville, Pa.
