Republic Engineered Products operates steelmaking centers in Canton and Lorain, Ohio, and value-added rolling and finishing facilities in Canton, Lorain and Massillon, Ohio; Lackawanna, N.Y.; Gary, Ind.; and Hamilton, Ontario.  All Republic operations have achieved certification to the ISO 14001:2004 environmental specification. 

For Republic, the scope of the EMS is defined as any activities conducted, any products manufactured or services performed that occur within the legal boundaries of the Republic manufacturing facilities.  Further, any air emissions, water discharges and any byproducts and/or wastes associated with these steel making activities are within Republic’s EMS.  

ISO 14001:2004, an international standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), is primarily concerned with environmental management systems.  The certification, one of the world’s most widely recognized environmental standards, means an organization is working to minimize its effect on the environment and is continually seeking to improve its environmental performance.  ISO was founded in 1947 to promote international manufacturing, trade and communications standards.
